Religious Ed Overview
Welcome!  St. Elizabeth's is proud to offer dynamic programs in the area of Religious Education for all of our children.  We work hard each year to plan and implement new and creative ways for children to learn about their Catholic faith, and to engage the whole family in the process.

We use the Alive in Christ Curriculum from Our Sunday Visitor for Grades 1-6, as well as in Grade 7 & 8 as a needed supplement.  To learn more about Alive in Christ - click here.

For our 7th and 8th Grade Program, we have a youth ministry based model that uses OSV's Alive In Christ texts, OSV's Faith Fusion text, St. Mary's Press Catholic Youth Bible, and Ascension Press's Chosen program.

The Church of St. Elizabeth offers Religious Education classes at the following times:

Religious Education classes for grades K-6 begin on Sunday, September 17.

Unit Reviews will be assigned for "HOMEWORK" for children and families to review the material covered after ever Unit of 3 Chapters is completed.  Please complete it, and return to class the next week so that it can be reviewed and correct by the catechist.  This will be a tool for both catechist and families to see what we are learning and what areas still need more attention.
Monday–Wednesday afternoons, children will be dropped off by the doors of the Narthex and come into the Church.  On Sundays, they will come into Cafeteria by the outside door across from Rectory.  At dismissal, parents are required to come directly to their child’s classroom hallway door to pick up child; do not use the outside parking lot door. Use both school and Church parking lots at pickup time. Drive slowly through the Church property at all times.
If the Wyckoff public schools are closed due to weather, Religious Education classes are cancelled.  If you have questions or the situation is a bit more complicated, you will be notified by email.  You can also check the website, St. Elizabeth parish app or our voicemail at 201-891-3262.
Family Mass takes place every 1st Sunday during the 10:30 AM Mass.
Gather the Children (Children's Liturgy of the Word) takes place on select Sundays (the 1st Sunday of the month is Family Mass) during the 10:30 AM Mass.  Children are dismissed at the beginning of mass and then return to Mass for the Liturgy of the Eucharist with their families.  See the bulletin for listing of exact dates for Gather the Children.
