Rev. Helber Victoria, Parochial Vicar

 

Rev. Jose Helber Victoria was born in Colombia on December 29, 1975 in Tarqui-Huila. He is the sixth of eleven siblings. He went to the seminary when he was seventeen years old and studied at the Cristo Sacerdote in Yarumal-Antioquia. There he finished school majoring in philosophy. He completed his theology training in LaCeja-Antioquia. His degree is in Philosophy and Religious Education.

 

He arrived in the US in 2006 for the purpose of seeking acceptance for ordination into priesthood for the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ. He was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop John Joseph Myers on May 26, 2007 and assigned to St. Elizabeth Parish as Parochial Vicar.

Rev. Roberto Ortiz, Parochial Vicar

 

Fr. Roberto Ortiz was born in Jersey City, NJ, in 1972. He is the youngest of the three children of Jaime and Ada Ortiz. He worked for 11 years in the insurance industry for corporations located in Newark and Manhattan. He entered the college seminary at St. Andrew’s Hall, South Orange, in 2001. Fr. Ortiz earned a B.S. in Catholic Studies from Seton Hall University in 2005.

 

Since 2005, he has continued seminary formation for the priesthood in Rome at the North American College while studying theology at the Gregorian University. Archbishop John Joseph Myers ordained him a priest for the Archdiocese of Newark on May 23, 2009. In June 2010, Fr. Ortiz will earn his License in Sacred Theology from the Gregorian University.
